New Full-Frame Ultra-Telephoto Zoom: Panasonic LUMIX S 100-500mm f/5-7.1 O.I.S.
A new ultra-telephoto zoom lens has been introduced for full-frame cameras: the LUMIX S 100-500mm f/5-7.1 O.I.S. Measuring only 7.7 inches when retracted and weighing just 2.83 lb, it is the smallest 500mm zoom lens available for full-frame systems. Despite its compact size, it delivers professional performance.
Power and Range
The lens offers sharp details across its 100–500mm range. For even greater reach, it can be paired with 1.4x and 2.0x teleconverters, extending the focal length up to 700mm or 1000mm. With Dual I.S. stabilization providing up to seven stops of correction, it enables handheld shooting without the need for a tripod.

Built for Outdoor Use
Designed to withstand tough conditions, the lens is dust- and splash-resistant, and it can operate in temperatures from -10℃ to 40℃ (14℉ to 104℉). Its versatility extends to close-up work too, with a minimum focusing distance of 2.6 ft at 100mm and 4.92 ft at 500mm—ideal for detailed shots of insects, flowers, and other small subjects.
Optical Excellence
The lens features an 11-blade diaphragm for smooth, rounded bokeh. Its optical design includes 19 elements in 12 groups, with two UED lenses, two ED lenses, and two UHR lenses. This advanced construction minimizes chromatic aberration, edge fringing, and vignetting, resulting in clear and natural images with impressive depth.
Smooth Focusing and Video Performance
Thanks to Dual Phase Linear Focusing Motors, transitions between in-focus and out-of-focus areas are fluid and natural. The focusing system operates quietly and suppresses focus breathing, making it especially useful for video recording. Additionally, the focus ring can function as a customizable control ring for extra flexibility.

A Lens for Every Adventure
Compact, lightweight, and powerful, the LUMIX S 100-500mm f/5-7.1 O.I.S. is an excellent choice for photographers and videographers who want an ultra-telephoto zoom without sacrificing portability.
